Zirconia MC-1204 Crucibles
Howmet uses high purity zirconia material, stabilized with magnesium oxide to produce the preferred crucible for melting nickel and cobalt-based superalloys. Crucibles are isostatic pressed from coarse-grain materials and fired at high temperatures. The end result is a crucible which exhibits extremely uniform properties and improved interparticle bonding.

Investment Casting Waxes
Howmet manufactures more than 30 standard and special application investment casting waxes. These include custom or standard gating wax formulations.
